Soccer returned |
Hockey was always a
risky
business – it meant that it came after Rugby in the pecking order, and
it took
its place in the latter part of the Easter term.
Weather constraints
tended to
be against us, with snow, ice and rain, and only a few sides listed
were able
to put out a decent team, during the restricted term.
From all the
evidence, the
teams we came up against were as good as you could get – for example,
St
George’s Weybridge, and a variety of club teams, - so we were always up
against
good opposition, and results really didn’t go our way.
Sevens also played
its own
part in strangulating the Hockey scene, but hockey was a good game,
considerably
different to the way they play these days, (in 2018), but inevitably we
woke up
one day, reconciled to going back to Soccer, and another new order had
begun.
