Forthcoming Events 2021

Holly reports on 28th May;

• Douai Society Annual Mass AGM and Summer Lunch - Sunday 5th September 2021 at the Pavilion. Followed by an Old Dowegians v Old Salesians cricket match. Tickets will be available to purchase in the next couple of weeks.

• ODCC: The Old Dowegians Cricket Club will be playing this season! A friendly 30-over match against Old Salesians is scheduled for Sunday 5th September (the day of the AGM) at Douai Park. Anyone who would like to dust off their whites should get in touch with match manager Nick Harman at nickharman72@googlemail.com.

• The Douai Foundation Gala- Friday 1st October 2021 at the Savoy Hotel, London. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

• Douai Society commemorative stone laying ceremony and Afternoon Tea - Saturday 2nd October 2021 in the Pavilion. The tea will be fully subsidised by the society. We will be asking people to acquire a free ticket off of the website so that we can manage numbers ahead of the event. This will be open to members first. Tickets will be available in the next couple of weeks.

• 3rd Basil Gwydir Military Lecture, at the Pavilion - Saturday 6th November 2021 - Conscience, Catholicism and Christ, in Conflict. Vignettes of soldiering in a secular age. Chris’s reflections on his moral struggle to serve the State, the Person, and Christ, described through objects and stories. Registration for this event will soon be open.
